What a difference to last year, when we held our traditional Christmas meeting online, this year we were inspired by the golden October sunlight to arrange our annual meeting in the spirit of health.
Not far from the company office in Düsseldorf is the Zoo Park. The fascinating, historic park in the heart of the city was the perfect meeting spot for our active start to the day. During a two-hour yoga workshop, we learned a bit about Indian philosophy and lifestyle and learned exercises that can easily flow into our daily work routine. From strengthening to relaxation, there was something for each one of us. Stretching the fingers, palms and wrists is particularly useful for those who do a lot of typing. Standing postures – such as the Tree or Warrior III – help to regain balance and grounding. This is very useful in stressful situations. The conscious combination of breathing and movement also focuses attention and promotes concentration.
The icing on the cake after our sports activity was the delicious brunch we enjoyed together outside.
Another key word for our meeting this year was optimism. After the uncertain pandemic year, we were all able to meet in person again and even welcome a new colleague: Emma Linford, who has been supporting our team with her valuable contribution since October. After a rainy week, we were surprised and spoiled by the gorgeous autumn sun: it turned out to be a perfect day for our open-air event. Invigorated by this meeting, we look forward to future developments with this optimism.
